"So I've been hired by this really awesome company called Diamond Ice prints. I work 8-5 everyday weekdays. And it's only a twenty minute drive from my house. Almost literally a straight shot. I love my bosses, my work, my hours, and especially my pay. I'm satisfied with literally everything. (Plus I still do my other freelance on the side!!!)

I've been here almost a month now, and in two more, I'll be through the probation period and well. Get a raise from what I understand and a real title.

This is their website; Diamondiceprints.com. They focus on permanently fusing images into glass. MY job is to take the digital image that has been sent to me from whatever client and make it pretty. (I am also a graphic designer and am responsible for creating this companies collateral and designing the awards that are ordered from clients.) This is basically some samples of what I've done. I can't use the ones normal people have sent to me, as I don't want to upset anyone. But some photographs I've been sent... Gosh, have been such poor quality that I've had to perform miracles to make them work. I've turned people from red skinned lobsters to normal, even skinned toned folks. I'm still totally a noob when it comes to this stuff, I hope too soon really be able to do better within the time frames I'm allowed.

Well, after I retouch, resize and whatnot. I print it out on a special clay paper, wait for it to dry, and then tape it to the correct size of glass. Put it into the special vaccuum oven/heater. And just wait. After it goes off I take it out of the oven, and take off the paper. And tada! The product is finished.

I've already been trained to do every step of this process and its now a daily routine for me. I work alone except for my two head bosses. Both of whose company I really enjoy. Both are even professional photographers.

All of these photos were taken by Protraits by Kacia, except for the last two, which were from the stock exchange. I should also say my bosses get a little upset when I spend an hour or more per photo. So many of these were finished in under 45 minutes or less. Most of them are about 20-25 minutes. (also the one with the grass I was asked to only replace the sidewalk, and to not retouch her face or anything.)

Also some of the colors may be extremely drastic, because when I print from the computer to the special paper, it gets desaturated, and then when it goes onto the glass. It gets lighter. So I often have to really overdo things to make them come out very nice on the glass.

I might add more later, I'll probably just write a journal about it! And I wish there were some sort of retouching category."
