I cut these out with the laser cutter at work, and I've made them into pins! I'm not sure if I want to paint them, as I like them this wood color! I've been selling them to my friends to cover the expenses for the wood and backings, I've been thinking maybe selling these on Etsy or something.

I posted them on Etsy if anyone would be interested in getting one! [link]

As stated before, I thought they were cookies on the thumbnail. I would have paid an arm and a leg for the secret to such perfectly shaped cookies.

Cool. Where did you get the design pattern from?

Thanks, I created the vector in Illustrator.

But where did you get the pattern/scale from?

Not understanding how you mean pattern/scale. :) This was created in illustrator, then imported into corel, where I sent it to the laser printer to cut. It cut out all the black parts, which was the edges, and left the white be.

I understand the process. It's the reference used I don't.
I guess that you made up the size and width. I remember doing some research over forums and blogs for the real Star Trek badges and coming up empty handed. I even looked on Ebay for an exact replica but it cost an arm and a leg back then. My wife is (also) a huge ST fan and I wanted to do these for her.
